I have ben around the shooting sport over 2 years now, I notice crates of 7.62x39 seem to go up 20$ a year and I am worried that it might sore come fall with paranoya for the supposetly december end of the wold?

What your take?

Wait until the supply dries up.
Then there will be weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth.

At one time 7.62x39 was very difficult to obtain.
Could happen again. There is serious international pressure to stop the sale of surplus arms and ammunition.

So people that have been around this caliber for 10-15 years what did you do? Are yoh stock up or am I thin-hat-fulling?

What do you mean supposedly? :D

You can always start reloading for it when ammo dries up. Should still be cheaper than factory.

What saskcop said.

When you can get 1440 rounds of Chinese surplus delivered to your door for under $0.20 a round, you can't call it expensive.

lever arms in van sells cases of 1400 non corrosive for like 399 i think, if i could afford to shoot non corrosive i would

I've heard that the cheap milsurp stuff is mostly Berdan primers and a royal pain to reload.

I've only got 500+ rounds of the M43, but I plan to buy a few boxes of the softpoint stuff, just in case I need to use the rifle for hunting. Even in a crisis situation where you might be tempted to hunt with the FMJ milsurp, it would apparently be lousy stuff to work with, since the M43 had an issue with drilling too finely (relative to other FMJ) through flesh.

just snatched up 3 800 round cases of corrosive, that should be enough to wear out a couple sks barrels so now i need to buy more 7.62 x 39 guns before they run dry as well. Slippery slope....

If they have it in stock, Lebaron has Yugoslavian surplus, 1320 for $207. But I don't think they ship ammo.

Tradex often has ammo. I picked up a few cases last year, but was a little disappointed because it was dated quite old, early 60's
