Looking to load up some 105 Amax with H1000 in my Rem 700 243 Remington. Has a 1/8 twist Shilen #7 Varmint contour.

Just curious if anyone has had any success with this combination. I have only used H4350 but have heard the H1000 is a little better for barrel life.

Thanks,

Matt

I think the faster powder (H4350) be better for barrel life.

I have used H1000, and like it, but have never tried it in a .243 Win.

Went to the range today after going last week trying to figure out a load. this seems to be the one that worked the best. Shooting off bipod with rear bag at 100 yards

I'm pretty happy with it.

45 grain H1000
Winchester brass
Federal 210 primer
105 Hornady Amax

Never tried it in a 243, but it is my go-to powder in the 6mm Remington with heavy bullets.
105 Berger or 107 Sierra.
48.0 grains of H1000
Zinger load in two of my 6mm Rifles with 1-8" twists.
5 shots usually under ½ moa.
Eagleye.

48 gr of retumbo with a 105 hunting VLD using a CCI BR2 primer in my ruger m77v with a 1 in 9 twist, .010 off. That load gets me a three shot group at 300yd a 2 1/2 group.
