Pimp My Gun: Stock Colt Ar-15 6920

My 6921 (M4LE 14.5 barrel) has 5.56 on the receiver as well. The myth of not being able to get a US rifle into Canada with 5.56 is just that...... a myth. My Armalite/Eagle Arms M15 receiver say 5.56 as well. Neither have .223 on them anywhere.

Now, is the 6921 a fairly recent import or has it been in country a while...?

That scope looks awkward in that position. How do you find the eye relief? I'd think a good cantilever mount from the likes of ADM would serve you better but if it works for you then have at 'er.

The scope you have will be more useful than a red dot for various shooting conditions.

Keep it simple and handy. Aimpoint T1 or H1, KAC rails (as mentioned). Maybe a Surefire scout light and a VFG. You don't really need much else.

I love the looks of all the rifles on this post. I love the LE6920 rifles! I wish I could find one to add to the AR collection.

As noted, go with a decent optic first. Then add a Magpul CTR, MIAD grip, trigger guard and lots of PMAG's. A nice rail like a KAC or DD would really spice it up, with an AFG or TangoDown short VFG (your choice).

Enjoy the fun part of the build!

Red dot, flashlight, streamers, bottle opener, vertical grip, tripod, fake can, hood ornament, cheese grater, moar rails!!!

You forgot cup holder. :D

Seriously, OP if you hate the handguards, change them out - KAC make the best rail set ups. If the pistol grip bugs you, either an Ergo or a MIAD. Throw an Aimpoint (Micro or even a PRO will do just fine) spend the rest on ammo and mags

What is it that you hate about the stock handguards? Cheapest option would be to switch them out for a Magpul Moe handguard.

I'd run the sight you have for now before deciding whether you should can it or not. It's a versatile optic that will you serve you well in a variety of roles. Why spend more money when you've got a decent optic already. I doubt that you're obtaining the proper eye relief in the position that it's mounted, so I would be buying a cantilever mount. This hobby is expensive enough without needlessly throwing your cash away.

The majority of crap that people put on their rifles doesn't do a damn thing to make the gun shoot better, it makes it heavier, and more expensive. Get out and shoot the thing, see what other people have and try them out, over time you'll see what it is that you like and dislike about your setup and you'll be better informed on what changes you should make for your type of shooting.

I've never liked the factory stock or A2 pistol grip, and I'm not the biggest fan of the handguards, either. I swapped all mine out for Magpul gear (CTR stock, MOE grip and handguards). I like the feel much, much better, and it's still light and handy.

I'm with Master-G. I don't like the round m4 type hand guards and swapped mine for MOE. The MOE hand guards are a major improvement in how my AR feels. Same with the A2 pistol grip, not my coup of tea, In my case the magpul MAID grip with the medium back strap and A1 front strap is comfy.
