Ever realize that your handgun is way more accurate than you are?

I am not a good handgun shooter, especially at 25 yards. I admit that I don't practice as much as I used to (too much work, too little range time ).

I shot this group with my 6" S&W model 17 at 25 yards, single action off a rest.

It made me realize how accurate these revolvers are, especially when my shaky shooting is taken out of the equation.

I have a S&W Model 17 with a six-inch barrel. I haven't shot it like that but I've always assumed I am the limiting factor.

Longer sight radius of the revolver... Last time shooting my 686 I was delighted at how well I shot with hot 357mag ammo. Couldn't do that with a semi-auto, yet.

I had a CZ97b that I couldn't shoot straight for some reason. Took a few people that never shot before, they shot better than me with it! Sold that gun pretty quick.

From a rest with a red dot my 686 can shoot five shot groups under 0.7"

Off hand with open sights the groups are more like 7", but it's nice to have confidence in the gun :)

Just to see, I mounted a green laser to my Shadow and benched it. Groups at 25 were right around 1 inch. I've never shot it that well in my life!
I am the weakest link!

This may sound like bragging - but I'm 100% serious:

I've shot a few other peoples guns and they have commented they didn't know their firearms were so accurate. And I'm by no means the best.

I'm just worried about shooting them all through the same hole and not getting credit for the hit so I spread them all out by at least a few inches for clarity :)

On my SIG test target Mr Koch has a ~1 inch 5 shot group @ 25 yards.

I'm closer to ~6-7 inch group @ that distance...

Same here, A.Koch did a 1" 5 shot group @ 25 meters with both of my german manuf. Sig's.

With luck, patience and being in "the zone", I barely manage to do a little under 3" @ 25 yrds... Guess I need some more rounds downrange:redface:
