Who has used a vang comp ported barrel?

Tactical Ordnance is the Canadian distributor for Vang Comp and offers all the options in Canada, yes it is worth doing in my humble opinion.

He can do your barrel. I have a ported barrel, but haven't had the full vang comp treatment. I find the ported barrel does lessen felt recoil if not actual recoil. Shooting 25 rds of magnum slugs in a t shirt convinced me of that.

I never noticed any difference in recoil reduction.
However, one noticed a substantial difference in patterns (tightness) using a Vang modified barrel and factory ammo back in '86.
With the advent of new "flightwad" technology and metal composition the advantage of the Vang Comp system has been diminished.

As I see it, you have to balance the amount of shooting you will do to justify the additional cost of the modification which will allow you to use cheaper ammo vs. the cost of more expensive ammo out of a factory (ish) barrel.

you have a point on the flight control wads, but i would say allways go with the better gun as you may not always have the chance to use the right ammo, the van comp treatment will work with any and all ammo.

in my humble opinion - worth it...I currently own multiple VC 870Ps and the patterning is noticeably tighter

Do you know if it works with the tactical rem-choke on the 870 express tactical? I was thinking about getting my barrel vang comp'd but I really like the look of the choke
