I decided to put in for zone 2 tag, I haven't been hunting yet so it would be quite a treat for a first hunt, but if by some chance I won I have a feeling a lot of guys wouldn't be too happy, more than a few have been trying for a while.
I have heard rumblings on how the draw is fixed as well, think there's any truth in that? A relative of mine won a tag about 3 or 4 years back, said he would get me a steak but I never got it. :(

Looks to me like Zone 5 may give you the best chance of being drawn. I sure as hell wouldn't want to be dragging 100's of pounds of meat out of country like that! Meat Cove is an amazingly scenic place to stay though and well worth the drive even if you don't bag a moose.

I've been applying since it started in CB and haven't been drawn, but my son got drawn the very first time he applied and then again 5 yrs later! 2004 and 2010. Got both moose within the first hour of the first day. Called them both in, first one went 50 inches and the second was a yearling bull.

We called in this nice bull on the evening after we got the yearling.

I applied for zone 2 season 2. Haven't applied for several years but I guess you can't get drawn if you don't apply regardless of how fixed it may be.

I heard N.B. has a system that bumps undrawn people ahead every year so at 7 years you have an excellent chance of being picked, or so I heard.

I was in the highlands on an atv run last season and the only moose I saw between Wreck cove, Margaree and Cheticamp was on someone's front lawn at the snowmobile club in Cheticamp!

On Hunters mountain I was surprised at the number of road hunters and hundreds of smaller side roads that no one seemed to venture down...

That's a monster in the video! Too bad it wasn't the one you got to take home but there's always next time eh?

That's right, if my friends or I get a tag we'll head to that bog for sure. It's off the road about a mile but we did find a way to get to it by cutting a atv trail over hard ground. No sign of any humans in there. found it using google earth.

edit: the draw is not until June 26 this year

Yes in NB they do bump you up if you havent gotten it after so many yrs. Does it work good though? Im 25yrs without a tag. I rather see the barrel draw again over the computer draw.
