Springfield M1A in Stock

Actually no. The original M-14 was made by Springfield Armory, which closed in 1968. The current Springfield Armory Inc. licensed the name in 1974 and is not the same. Originally it sold products based on surplus stock from the original Springfield, but as that stock ran out it began manufacturing the components itself, and while its quality is obviously considered pretty good, the processes are not identical to the way the original M-14 was manufactured.

Really no-one manufactures the original M-14 anymore, so it boils down to who you think makes the best copy.

Um...actually no, Springfield was one of four original M14 manufacturers. The other 3 were, Harrington & Richardson, Winchester, and TRW

Any chance on Troy stocks? I know it seems impossible these days but im still keeping my fingers crossed.

National Match. Now there's a rifle worth owning!

I would be interested, although I've recently spent way too much loot on firearms equipment.

Keep us posted!

Are these something you can bring in again in say... 6 months? A year?

I very much want one of these, but "we" have some financial goals "we" need to meet and my girlfriend told me today that my gun shopping is done until January 2013 at least.

I love the damn woman but sheesh. LOL

Luckily I snuck a few cheapy Cooeys into the cabinet recently so I have something to tinker with and refinish to keep me going... :D

Just found this thread. Am interested in a standard black synthetic stock, but anything in a standard would probably work. Also, unless I'm mistaken, the Socom and Scout Squad models are restricted? Barrels too short for non-restricted?

The Socom is restricted for sure but I think the Scout Squad should still be NR...the barrel on it is about the same as on the Ruger Scout which is NR...of course, I could be wrong. Would love to get my hands on a Scout Squad though!
