A Way to Get 10 Rounds in SKS Legally?

Yeah, I definitely will not make any modifications to the magazine.
One thing though, I'm not sure if this is considered a modification or not... What if I made some kind of bracket or something that clamps onto the magazine? So it would only be held on by friction... No screws, welds, drilling, etc. Something which, when removed, leaves the magazine in its original state? I wonder if that would be legal? I'm not saying I'm definitely going to make something like that, but it's one idea...
Considering the only thing that is regulated is the magazine itself, I'd imagine it doesn't matter how I hold it in the gun, as long as the magazine is not modified at all. Fixing a clamping device to it doesn't make it a different magazine.
My guess is no it wont be illegal,my concern will be,will it stay there ?
Im into making a adapter for the AR lar mags for sks,i can tell you right there the mag dont enter the receiver without mod or milling the sks receiver.And the bolt need some milling too.
It's just not a plug and play modification unless your in the USA and you can cut the mag shell or our law change about them lol.

Since making the video I've blued the parts where I was grinding. Looks better now.
EDIT: I just realized, the bolt hold open is useless because as soon so you put a round in the bolt would slam shut on your hand. I have another idea for how to make it work.

Best of luck with your adapter, undoubtedly legal - and if mass produced WILL turn you into a ricch man in very short order - hell, I'd buy another SKS JUST to use the adapter.

Well, the thing is, I'm not making an adapter. I'm actually modifying the gun to accept the magazines. So it isn't really a product that could be sold. It's mostly labour. I'm going to share exactly how it's all done.
At work I have access to equipment like a milling machine, lathe, tig welder, etc, but I want to do this at home using tools that anyone can get. So far I've used a cordless drill and a dremel.
What's left to do?
I've determined exactly where the magazine has to sit in order to feed reliably and not get in the way of the bolt. Currently, the magazine goes in a little too far, so I need something to limit how far in it can go. What I'm going to do is drill and tap some holes through the two rails that the bolt-carrier rides on, and then screw in some set-screws to the correct depth. The screws will go in from the bottom and the portion that protrudes out through the top will be ground off to prevent them from getting in the way of the bolt-carrier. At least, that's how I'm going to position the front portion of the magazine. For the back I have a few different ideas.
Once all that is done, it'll be possible to just put the magazine in as far as it goes and it'll be aligned perfectly for feeding. Then, all I have to do is make a catch that clips into the square hole on the side of the magazine (that's what the hole is there for).
So far, it's all looking very feasible. Stay tuned!

Me too. The only thing I have left to do is make some sort of catch to hold the magazine in. Right now, when the stock is installed, the magazine will actually stay in place just from friction. I'm using a Choate Dragunov stock though. I don't know if that would happen with the wood stock.
I like how this is turning out. The bolt hold open still works, even after you pull out the magazine. I see no reason why stripper clips wouldn't still work, but I'll definitely need to make a magazine catch so it doesn't fall out while pushing cartridges in from the top.
I'm not sure how I'm going to do that yet. I have a few ideas. I think the simplest would be to simply install a flat piece of spring steel with the correct shaped notch bent into it to latch into the magazine. To pull the magazine out, you'd just lift a tab which would be sticking out maybe a quarter inch below the stock, on the left side.
While I want it to be possible to change magazines fairly easily, it might not be necessary, since it can be loaded with stripper clips (I hope).
Once this is finished, I'll do a video where I show every modification that I had to make.
