Most Innovative Next-Gen Black Rifle

In your opinion, what's the most innovative (non-AR) next-generation Black Rifle in 5.56mm? (availability aside)

I'd say Beretta ARX-160. They did tons with it like true ambidextrous design and the ability to change ejection. The Tavor I bought I'm underwhelmed with, still having that stupid gas in the face problem, the ACR is a modified AR basically, SCAR same thing. FS2000 was a close second because I love that feeding ramp out the front and the bullpup design.

Nothing on any of those rifles are particularly innovative IMO. The only notable exception might be the ejection system on the F2000, so if I had to vote for one, it would be that.

I'm going to say the same thing here. Not a whole lot of real innovation, just moving parts around, the systems are all tried and true designs.

Hk 416 is pretty much all the things I ever need, may be a lighter barrel profile.

The only thing really needed for this Assault rifle is the ambi-BCG release that is on a KAC lower, that is all you need.Most of the features on the ARX-160 are not needed but are welcome, and all the ARX-160 is just all the features combined over the past 40 years of weapon development. But many of the features it has are irrelevant comparing a fully modernized AR rifle. Collapsing the Stock like the G36 and Arx160 to name a few is a good feature too, but really is only needed for packing your rifle away anyway.

Just a little tidbit gents for the 416 haters out there- I just got some info that one specialized end user currently using 416's tested it against several ( read that as most) current DI and piston guns to find a potential replacement and the result of the test was.....

The HK416 will stay in place as the issue assault rifle

None of the other guns came close to it performance wise from what I was told- you may not like HK but based on what they found during their test no one makes a better gun as of right now

That's all I can say - spin it however you want but this organization can and will buy whatever they want to get the job done; if there was something better they would be using it or in the process of buying it
