IMO people pigeon hole the man too much because they haven't read his work.

Yes, he praised many cartridges: .250/3000, .257 Roberts, 7x57, .375 H&H and even the .458 Win Mag.

While my preference leans more towards the contributions of his 'buddy' Elmer, there's nothing shabby about Jacks experiences or his take on things.
