Hey guys so I'm eyeing down an xcr in 223 pretty bad and want one this summer but I have a few questions first. Do they take standard ar mags? Also how available are they? I see that wolverine only has it in od green right now and maybe pink? Lol and finally how reliable are they? Will I always need a parts kit stocked up to the ti*s? If so I'm not interested. Thanks in advance guys I tried using search but it never works on my iPad and my laptop is at my farm with about 50 7.62 sized holes in it.

I researched many black rifles before I purchased my XCR and haven't had any problems. One of the biggest selling points is the fact that Wolverine is the distributor and they are great to deal with. I know IF I need any parts, Wolverine will have them, or can get them as soon as possible.

Best of luck. You won't regret your purchase.

My first XCR ran trouble free until, I read about all the problems I am supposed to have, So I went and bought a Micro just in case the first one fails.

Trouble free on mine.
Actually turned into a "go-to" gun for me. Most people I take out shooting tend to enjoy that one the most too.

Cool thanks guys looks like I'm good to go now lol just need a few more pay checks! And to the guy who said something about an ar 15... I do plan on getting one day but right now I need a non restricted "ar type" rifle but thanks for the info!

Ha.... "NEED".... spoken like a true gun nut :)

I traded my AR to get my xcr. I miss my AR but the XCR's ability to go where my AR could not makes it 100% better. The ergo's on an xcr are better imo as well.

I'm still in the process of breaking mine in, but so far it runs beautifully. I get trigger slap on gas setting 4, but I'll be tuning down to 2 or 3 after the break in.

Everyone I take shooting loves the xcr.
Reliable, easy to use, easy to take apart.

That brilliant gas block turn off option for developing loads (stop brass from flying away to check for pressure signs) or when you don't want to be tossing brass down your shooting buddies shirts.

There's enough rail space to support a full blown train yard.

Trigger is very nice, many who shoot it are very suprised, stating that they've shot bolt guns with worse.

You won't regret one, that's for sure.

In my opinion you should have the most needed parts on hand for any semi automatic rifle.... We are talking buffers and pins, not a spare barrel and bolt ...

For the XCR there arent much parts you may need ... I think wolverine has a parts kit and having one probably wont hurt.

I was going to buy one...but then noticed the parts are harder to get than an AR15 according to some research on the website.

What website are you talking about? As stated Wolverine will have or can get any parts you need for an XCR. No parts aren't available everywhere like the AR but it's a much newer design being built by one small company in the US so I would not expect them to be. Wolverine seems to have a good bussiness relationship with Rob Arms and Rob Arms seems to value their Canadian customers as well.

Wolverine is great to deal with and I see no big problems with parts availability unless Rob Arms were to go out of bussiness. I own both an AR and an XCR and if it came down to me only owning one it would have to be the XCR because of it's non restricted status. In the long run the AR may be the way to go because of the bulk of parts available it's just thIe restricted status that ruins it for a lot of people.

If you only shoot at a restricted range then to be honest an AR is probably the way to go unless you want to outfit an XCR pistol to be more unique then everyone else at the range. An AR is way cheaper (depending on brand of course) and you can go with a shorter and lighter barrel option.

If you want to be able to shoot without an ATT and the hassel.....XCR is the way to go for sure.
