What can be shot one handed?

Gangsters shoot sideways because that's how they learned to shoot; from inside a car and out through window half down. They're too stupid to hold the gun up straight when they're out of the car and standing. That's why they're gangsters in the first place. No common sense. Lots of people try it just to see what it's like, but an RO would not be doing their job if they ignored it.

That's the reason they can't hit anything. Too bad, or the gang problem should have resolved itself long time ago.:) The last SOB standing can wash dishes the rest of his miserable life.

Yes. Their targets are no more than a suburban front lawn away. Maybe forty feet at the most, and they do miss and wound the inocent all too often. So big/tuff SOB's can shoot pretty big stuff one handed. Two handed shooting came about after WW1, when distances and speeds picked up. Shoot with both hands, or shoot like Dirty Harry if you try anything bigger than a 44 with one hand. Twenty five years ago I tried shooting my 20 gauge double with one hand, (youthfull folly) didn't hurt, but never tried it again.

the 2 handed stances where not imployed till well after ww2 most guns used then like the luger,1911,p38,webely,high power and many others where made for one handed shooting theres a reasone there called HANDgunds Laugh2

ive shot my 12ga onehanded with a birds head grip on a 870 its not a problem it transfers the recoil in a straight line from the gun into your arm easy to handle

See them all the time in the movies, especially old westerns, what calibre could the average adult man shoot one handed without breaking or spraining a wrist? Like a .30 carbine, or 7.62x25? A 200 pond man, or does body weight even affect that?

There where LOADS of different calibers! 45LC, 44-40 WCF, 44 RUSSIAN, 38-40 WCF, 32-20 WCF, .38 COLT, .22 LR. Short, That’s just an idea of calibers that have a cartridge let alone the ones that were a “Transition from Flintlock to Percussion Ignition” which also is a book. Percussion revolvers staring with 28,36,44 loads more. Any who I would consider the Wild West from early 1800’s to 1905 lets say, that’s just a rough estimate a quick google apparently has an actual date lol 1840’s until 1910. Which would include other calibers like 38 special. Lots of different things come in to play with technique, type of handle, grip etc! But nearly everything can be shot one handed.

most handgun action was point and shoot anyway you only had to hit a man size target
