Going moose hunting!!!!!!!

My huntin buddy got a tag for the non motorized hunt in northern cape breton, not the ideal hunt but all that work to get in and out will make the meat taste better!!!!!

You're a hop, skip and a jump from some of the best Alaska-Yukon Moose hunting in the world and you want to come to Cape Breton for their little Canada Moose specimens? Good luck with that!

The Cape breton moose are moose that were stocked from Alberta. The population grew and the season was opened in 1987 or 88. There was a spruce bud worm attack and thousands of acres were clear cut to salvage the wood. New growth started up and this made perfect feed for moose. There were many B&C moose that came out of there, especially when the season first opened.

A friend of mine shot a 72 inch bull in 2004 and I got a little one that went 50 inches. In 2006 another friend shot one that went over 60 inches and scored 207 B&C. A draw system is in place and the population is not overhunted and there is no hunting in the Cape Breton Highlands National Park which is a huge area which can supply moose both north and south of the Park.

I've done the nwt/yukon moose and caribou hunt, taken some nice caribou, moose, wolves and blavk bears but have since moved back to nova scotia to b closer to family. Not the same hunting opportunities but lots of game, deer, moose, bear, pheasants, bunnies, can't complain
