1st 100rds

Had the chance over the weekend to try out the rounds I made. 5.0gr n 5.2gr were pretty soft compared to the factory rounds. Bench tested the 5.2gr @ 15yards and I was quite happy. It was pretty accurate. Although no chronograph to test the load I will be trying 5.3gr and 5.4gr hopefully this Friday..
Anyone in the GVRD know where to get some Winchester 231 or Hodgdon HP-38?? Called around Vancouver, Surrey and Henry @ Budget but no luck.. Anyone got some they want to sell??
 
Awesome set up! Now that table looks very sturdy for reloading.

I think we both went after the same add off of craigslist but you got to it first. :p
I guess I'll stick to my 550 or till I find a another 650 or 1050 for a good price.

Have you considered using Hodgdon's Titegroup? it's a fairly fast burning/ clean powder that I use in my 9mm right now with awesome results. From what I've read it seems to do really well in .45ACP as well but maybe some other members can chime in as well.

Was very fortunate on the kit, the seller had 5 other people lined up to buy it. I would've paid a bit more just to get it. =)

I have been into 5 stores looking for some powder and no luck. Even Henry @ Budget is out of powder. Should've bought a few containers when they had them instock. = (

Finally found some Win231 $102/4lbs locally. Pm if you want details.

I have accumulated quite a bit of commercial 223brass, most of it are FC 223rem brass. Should I be concern using these brass?? Aside from swaagger, pocket reamer and brass trimmer any other tools I should be getting..

Nice! I haven't used Winchester 231 yet but I'll pm for details.

Shouldn't be a concern unless you are using NATO brass where the primer hole needs to be swagged out cause of the crimping of the primer pocket. Nato brass is easily identified by a circle with a cross in the middle head stamp. I believe most regular .223 brass like Federal, Winchester and the such should be fine but it never hurts to swagger it.

Tools I've seen are a press mounted case trimmer made by Dillon http://www.dillonprecision.com/#/content/p/9/pid/23636/catid/8/Dillon__039_s_Rapid_Trim_1200B_Case_Trimmer and bench mounted units that are either electric or hand turned. It just depends on the volume that you are preparing and how much time you have.
