If you normally order a Boyds stock for an M1A/M14 in Canada you can only order the unfinished one, since the finished one costs $104 which exceeds the ITAR $100 limit which Boyds adheres to, however this weekend they have 10% off so you can get a finished one shipped to Canada. The shipping costs $43.90 so the total cost is $137.90

Shipping costs

Nice..... But Boyds shipping cocts are outrageous.........

Do #### stars deliver for them or what.........;)
I do not think they are any more than if you send a rifle or shot gun from one coast to the other or to the Northwest Territories in Canada from my experience with Canada Post, also they are the same as from other US retailers

So u have to make a second order for the hand guard i guess then..handy...more shipping charges : )
The sale goes in effect on the weekend? Reg prices are in effect now.

What do you have to add to be able to use this stock? DO I have to remove the metal parts in the trigger/magazine area from my old stock and install them in the new stock or is it drop in + some filing?

Thinking of buying a dependable stock instead of the chinese one.

You can either use the parts off your existing stock or get replacemet parts. I ordered mine from Treeline. The parts that I ordered were, M14 M1A USGI Stock Metal Set - since the USGI buttplate is two ounces lighter than the Norinco buttplate (The USGI is part Aluminum). I also ordered a M14 M1A Front Stock Ferrule. The weight of the Boyds stock with the USGI buttplate is 40 ounces were as the existing Norinco stock with the Norinco buttplate is 50 ounces.

This is cool and all, and I want to get a Boyds for my own...but...hasn't that "$100 limit" been raised? I could have sworn I heard it was actually $200 now, or $500 (or about to be soon raised to $500??). If that's the case, and I'm certain I had seen some threads about this months ago, maybe we should inform Boyds of this new development?

No still $100, we deal with DOS weekly. So no changes for gun parts

I was looking at the Boyds site and see that the $100 limit on longer applies to shotgun stocks, however they are no longer advertising the unfinished M1A stock, which means you can no longer get an M1A stock in Canada

That is weak.

Maybe they took it down until they make more?

Luckily I was there at the right time and got in on the July 4th sale. My finished stock did arrive, I was worried customs might look at the value vs the price paid and not allow it through.

Don't worry, every 3 months, or so it seems, Boyd's has another sale on M1A walnut.
As for the 100, 200, 500 limits, I think the individual U.S. Dealer has to apply for higher export limits. I might be wrong who knows. I do know that it's not applied automatically.

Anyhow, Boyd's will never stop makin M1A stocks, especially when they sell out everytime they have a "sale" :D
