BC LEH Draw results are up

i think the b,c, l.e.h is a waste of your money , i have sent in five appications a year for over 20 years , and drew zero, i quit sending them in last year, and i had the same results as before zero,, but i still have my money ,lol

BC LEH is a lottery, in in every lottery there are more losers than winners, but if you want to draw LEH tags in BC< then put in for the low odds draws. Anything more than about 2-1 odds you have a very small chance of success. Low odds draws give you high chance of success, but the flipside is that it's because the hunting is usually tough.

Most people will never get one of the more coveted tags, but with the exception of grizzly and bison, we can hunt all the rest of the species in a GOS. Bison tags are hard to get but in many areas, grizzly tags are almost given out to whoever wants one. It's not uncommon for many grizz areas to be 1-1 or .5-1 odds.

See GH, the problem I have, as do others apparently, is that I do put in for fairly low odd hunts and still hardly ever get drawn. For example, I wasn't drawn last year (surprise) and neither were the two other members of my group. We put in for shared moose that historically is between 2:1 and 3:1 odds. Guess what - we didn't get drawn. And then you get guys who are drawn 3 years in a row. Do you know what the odds of that should be, especially given the 66% odds reduction?

In 25 years I have been drawn only six times. Out of those six times, three were undersubscibed hunts that were, obviously, a guaranteed draw, and one was a shared moose hunt with a group of 4 where the odds were 3.x:1

I guess there are a bunch of us that seem to have incredibly bad luck.

And others just have good luck sometimes ....................
I just talked to a co-worker who out won 3 out of 4 entries he put in for.

He hasn't won a draw in years but this fall he will be hunting "any bull" moose, cow elk, and bison. He wasn't too upset he didn't get the mule deer doe draw he put in for. ;)

keep in mind as well that it only takes one error on your part to have the entry go to the wastebasket. I am sure a few entries each year never make it to the pool.

The B.C regulations are online and might give you a reason to emigrate to paradise.

Thanks alot for the quick info!
Well its impossible to hunt without a Guide if your not a Resident, residency i think was 12 months!

It was only two days ago I thought about life as i drove through the mountains near my home...
Its definatley on the cards, the big sea change to BC... friends an almost a 2nd family down in Vernon... Just have to see what happens over the next couple years with my Career, im fairly young atm, 23... there is no rush.

But each few months the bug to move on to greener pastures definatley ignites, especially with greener pastures filled with Elk, goats, sheep caribou an bears.....

After 10 years of zero LEH wins, I got a 65:1 sheep, 15:1 goat and 10:1 shared moose all in one year.

It's random, and random draws will produce random results. :)

CONGRATULATION GATEHOUSE 63 TAGS AMONG MY FRIENDS IN TOWN NOT ONE DRAW I repeat these words 63 TAGS AMONG MY FRIENDS IN TOWN NOT ONE DRAW this is not a typo this is unreal its like a horror movie but Gatehouse good luck to you this will be your hunt of a lifetime to all that drew enjoy and cherish the moments to those that did not endure we might get one one when were walking with a cane or riding our suped up wheel chairs lol Happy hunting everyone

It was a number of years ago that I got those draws. Since then I have received 1 grizzly draw for a 10-1 area, 2 grizzly draws for 1-1 areas and this year I got a moose and doe. I've submitted about 50 cards since the year I got the 3 draws. Just illustrating the randomness of the draws.

Most years I have hunted without ever getting an LEH draw and had completely satisfying hunting seasons. This is BC after all. :p

As pointed out by Gatehouse BC hunters shouldn't look as LEH draws as a necessity to go hunting.

I have always looked at them as "bonus" tags to be used and appreciated when won but not by any stretch of the imagination required to have a successful season.

no moose
no elk
no doe
this is the first time iv put in. my cousin got a bull moose draw so were still going on our trip. i just hope i see a spiker or a black bear

Ditto! Our group had no draws last year, but we managed to get a calf in calf season. Not a lot of meat between 5 of us, but better than nothing!

Limited Entry Draw Results for Hunter Number:
Successfully Drawn Hunt Code(s):

no successful hunt codes

Still got Muley Buck and both WT's to look forward to.

Really good bonus if you get one that allows hunting for a species like moose where there is no open season. With my dad's bull moose it's open "sit in the loft of the barn and wait" :p
