GSG 1911 - Magazine Issue

Sucks you're having problems :( I ordered 4 extra mags with mine. I took them all and thoroughly cleaned and lubed them. Then I worked the shiznik outta the spring for a couple minutes to "loosen" them up a touch. I've loaded and shot them all with half a dozen types of ammo. No problems at all with any high velocity, round nose bullets. Love my GSG :)

Mine definitely is not a mag issue.Usually when I get a failure the spent shell is still in the chamber and the slide has only gone far enough back to put the pistol at half ####.Sometimes it goes back far enough to eject the empty and #### the hammer but not far enough to pick up a fresh one.

That's what happened when I tried to run some standard velocity ammo I have on hand. My GSG definately likes the high velocity stuff and empties mags without a hitch :)

Sounds all too familiar to me. Have a look at a thread I had going on my problems.

Post 26 shows pictures of where I found my problem and what I did about it.

May at least give you an idea or two on curing your issues.

Thanks Yogi,I have noticed some wear in that area and have polished it with some emery paper.Maybe I'll take some more meat out of there.

In the end I got pissed off and went whole-hog grinding metal off that point in the frame (it's only a dust cover really at that part of the frame).

If you can get a piece of paper between the slide and frame you're probably ok. I couldn't at first. I can get a small car through there now and the slide worked noticeably quicker and smoother.

Just something to look at.

Good luck.
