norinco jw 2000 12 inch barrel review please

Just my $0.02 on this shotgun...

Pros:

-- Extremely unique/cool...
-- Very cost effective...
-- Take down is a breeze, no problem fitting it in a backpack...
-- VERY fun to shoot, have to love the fireworks...

Cons:

-- Very cost effective... (meaning you literally get what you pay for, the quality control on these is all over the charts, some good/better then others, others being a complete trainwreck, rough external machining on some, its a $300 Norinco and it shows...)
-- Service life... due to MY experience with these shotguns, the heavier loads you put through these things the quicker then tend to shoot themselves loose... (again get what you pay for); Id always opt to have these shotguns shoot the lightest loads just for fun...
-- Reliability... There have been cases where the internals have been all over the place for reliability purposes, being parts not fitting correctly, certain heat-treatment issues on others etc... My personal view on this is Id NEVER use this as a wilderness protection gun, JUST simply due to the reliability %'ages being too low for my liking when you need a firearm to perform EVERY time the trigger is pulled...

In Closing its a fun little range gun/plinking gun that for the money is a very good value, however I wouldnt trust my life to one... but hey thats just me... :D

I just got to shoot mine for the first time yesterday. Didn't spend a lot of time with it, just 6 shots of Remington Gun Club target loads.

Fun, felt solid. No problems with loading or extracting, or even opening and closing it the break action. I've heard complaints from other people about the latter, but mine doesn't seem affected (though it's hard to close with my beat-up snap caps loaded, for some reason).

One hammer clicks twice and the other only once for some reason. My left muzzle was bent when I got it, but not enough to impair function. The vent rib has a significant dent in it just behind the bead, but again...aesthetic. Mine is a bit hard to take down without a plastic hammer or something to knock the forend on and off, but I suspect I could fix that with some sanding if I cared to.

We'll see how long the thing lasts, but I pretty much only plan to use it for making noise with light shells. It's not something I'd want to rely on if I thought I'd "need" a shotgun.

Mine has the same double clicking in one hammer. I tried to fix it but it caused other problems. Which have been fixed Soft metal issue me thinks.

Over all a fun gun so far worth the money.

So, anyone pulled both triggers at the same time yet? I can't believe I neglected to try that the other day ;)

Also, I just realised that the entire sideplate moves when the trigger is pulled (on both sides). And the stock is cracked. My confidence in this gun's longevity is dropping off...

Yeah mine was cracked under the right side reciever plate, I put a pin in it today.

Not really sure what the life span of these things will be, I'm going to feed it shells until something lets go and then make a thread about it.

Now that is quality!.....
