Got a nice birthday gift from my old man. He said he went to Wanstalls and talked to the guys there.

I figured you may not see the guns in action after they leave your store, or maybe you may fear that they become safe queens.

I can assure you that this rifle is no safe queen. Already had it out and rippin through the gophers in no time. I was pickin them off at 50 - 75 yards no problem. and the semi-auto ended a gopher family picnic of 5.

Gonna make a trip to AB for some gopher fun.

The SR22 is esp. sweet after a nice trigger job or best yet new trigger group (ie timney, Volqartsen, ...)
 
what trigger job ?

what is the deal with the trigger job?

I would love to juice this up a bit. I was already looking at the new barrels from Tactical solutions. Think those are worth it ?

awesome! how do you find places to shoot gophers out in alberta?
do u have to know a landowner and then get permission?
 
Factory lawyer approved trigger is heavy (~9# new) but will improve with usage. UTube has lots of vids on polishing the trigger group to smooth it out plus reduce trigger break.

The replacement trigger groups are great for target shooting but at 2-3# break may be too light for hunting.

how do i find places to shoot gophers ?

farmers are asking to have their gophers shot out here. If you're responsible they have no qualms and thank you when you leave.

That first photo is THE first photo of an SR22 that ever made me want to get one. :)
