Hey Nutterz,

Finally got out to the range this weekend to break in my new SR 1911. I shot 100 rounds of 230gr FMJ.

I set the target out to 20-25 ft to ensure the sights were on. Here is my FIRST ever shot with the pistol! (20-25 ft off hand.)

I was pretty happy to see I hit the 1 inch bull without having to adjust the rear sight.

After confirming the sights were properly set, I moved on to holster and mag change drills. I am happy to report I didn't have a single failure. Mags used were Wilson 47's

Now time for some load development!

Be patient you guys, You will get yours too!

He would be happy if that was 25 yds...he said 20-25 ft which is about 7 yards :D

That being said, my SR1911 was pretty damn accurate out of the box. Here is 6/7 shots on 8" steel at 25 yds (75 ft) my first time out with it:

Ya definitely 25 ft. NOT yards. I was merely seeing if the rear sight needed to be adjusted. Trigger felt great, as all 1911's should. It will only get better as the pistol gets broken in.
