Making an AR barrel from a blank is very do-able.....

I know, I've done one in 300 AAC Blackout. Its pretty simple. I just don't have the reamer or the blank... or the time. Luckily a 20" Krieger popped up on the EE.

You would think there would be more of these in stock... they're a popular length in SR and its an application where they tend to need replacement fairly often to maintain accuracy.

Holy hell these are hard to find ! Especially ones that aren't 1-9" twists.

Time to buy at .223 Wylde reamer, methinks...

yep thats all i could find is a 556 marked, 1/9 twist....i was not about to complain given the amount of time i looked for even any 20 inch BBL. Hell i was so desperate i almost bought a norinco...

The bulk of the market is for tricked out shorties. 20" rifles require larger, more expensive mirrors.
Given the modular nature of the AR, you'd think there there should be a slow but steady demand for quality 20" barrels, which aren't varmint weight.
