K well I just had to have it so I went out to Dlask today to get my dirty little hands on it.
Here are a couple of pictures of it compared to the NEA ambi mag release:

Don't have time tonight to put it in my rifle but will post back later with pic's of it in my rifle and also a video on how it work's. Also this mag release works perfectly with all bolt release's unlike the NEA one that needs to be modified to work.

Looks like the Dlask would clear the bottom of the trigger guard. Does anyone still carry the NEA ambi mag release? I've been searching for one for months unsuccessfully. The flowers were a nice touch as well. Don't see that too much on CGN eh?

Looks great, looking forward to seeing how this works.

Pics are up on this on the dlask website. You can find it in the picture gallery section. Looks good with a great price!

I have to admit I'm a fan of Joe's work.

Similar to our Competition Extended Mag Release we ran for our sponsored shooters and preferred clients; We found that running a release this large is great in competition, but less so for real world use. Our clients had concerns about a larger release getting caught up at an inopportune time. I run one myself and find it fast for my style. The majority find our Ambi release the fastest release for left or right handed shooters.

May need to be modified to work with your guys BC Tactical bolt release, but works fine with ours.

I wouldn't say it's similar. The new Dlask release looks long enough to be able to do an AK-style "smack the mag out" change.

I agree. It appears to be at least 0.5-0.6" longer than our comp release. I wanted to go longer, but in testing it got caught up on everything. The spring on the VZ is relatively weak (more so than that of the AK), so the longer the lever, the less work to remove the mag. Snags is a real issue with a long release, even ours. But for competition these types of releases really shine. And those who train on the AK platform will likely find some cross-platform abilities with this one.

What did it get caught on? What your saying about the weak spring and longer leaver makes sense. It would be nice to have a product as wide as yours (and textured) but as long as the DLASK version. (Perhaps even toss in a slightly stiffer spring)

Is that feasible?

It got caught on gear, especially when slung when not in use or during a transition. As for the spring strength, you know, we never looked into it. The spring isn't that long so there isn't a whole lot of room to work with a stronger spring. Perhaps a synthetic buffer as a replacement would toughen it up. It's certainly possible. We target our VZ components for our professional clients. If they don't like it, it usually gets parked on a shelf and we move on.

I had the NEA extended mag release on my CZ858 when I ran TR's Fighting Rifle course. I was a bit worried about it snagging on gear and dropping a full mag on the ground, but it never happened during the course, just one time at home when I was messing around with sling length.

I'd be interested in trying out this AK style on my CSA, and I'd really be interested in some kind of tougher buffer, or spring as well. I haven't bought anything from Joe in a while, but this has my attention.

That sounds like a really affordable solution that might be easy to adapt.
