Whats the cheapest brandnew Semi-Auto Shotgun?

The cheapest ones are the Mossberg 930 and 935.

The 930 takes 2.75" and 3" shells and the 935 only takes 3" and 3.5" shells.

Both models sell for under $600 at sirmailorder.com

I have a Baikal and they go for $600+. Ellwood Epps has the best prices for the Baikal MP-153.

This should be an interesting thread. I wonder what would sell for less than the Mossberg 930?

Good luck,

BT

Check out the Remington page of Ellwood, they list one Remington 1100 Sportsman 12G x 2.75" discontinued stock for $499. Item No: NG5272.
28" VR barrel and Rem choke. It is the cheapest that I can found but only handle 2.75" shell. The newer model all handle 3" or more.

The cheapest on the market is a Traditions, for under $400 I believe. Made in Turkey. I've never fired one, but they don't look that bad. If you're not putting thousands of rounds per year thru it, it should be alright.

SIR also offer H & R excell auto 5 for 400$
semi-auto 3'' chamber, heard good review
and 930 mossberg that is reputed to be great too

Here are the autoloader that currently sell for under $ 700 :

-Remington 11-87 Sportsman : Made in USA, gas operated, 2 3/4" and 3" only. Synthetic stock. Comes with only one choke (must buy the others at extra cost).

- Baikal MP-153 : Made in Russia, gas operated, can cycle everything from 2 3/4" to 3 1/2". Both wood and synthetic stocks available. Comes with 4 chokes. Sold in the USA as the Remington SPR-453.

- Mossberg 935 : Made in USA, gas operated, 3" and 3 1/2" only. Synthetic and wood stocks. Comes with 3 chokes. The Mossberg 930 version will cycle 2 3/4" and 3" shells only.

- Stoeger 2000 : Made in Turkey, inertia action, 2 3/4" and 3" only. Synthetic and wood available. Comes with 5 chokes.

The made in Turkey Traditions ALS 2100 is no longer offered by Traditions as it was apparently an unreliable model (I almost bought one a couple of years ago:redface: ).

I looked at (and considered) all of the above. I bought the Baikal as I found it to be the most versatile and the most robust. I am very happy with my choice.

shot an ESE this past weekend. Never even heard of them before. It was in full camo and was 3.5 inch mag. It was a demo gun a supplier brought up to the local trap and skeet club. we never had any 3" or 3.5" but it took quite a few 2.75" 1 1/8 ounce loads on the skeet field without a hicup.

Price was right around 700

Hey osborne that gun was a Silah EGE Super Magnum in Shadow Grass Camo. They are made in Western Turkey and are gaining a very good rep as a tough no nonsense auto. I was also impressed with it. Can't beat a 1100 or a 391 but not bad.;)

Hey Thanks again!

So we got a few options eh? Many of them are around 700.
I think I will save up for the Baikal, only cause of that very kewl video that someone here mentioned once.

:)

Thanks again guys!

You mean the Destination X link that I posted a while back?;)

By the way. The Baikal will indeed eat up anything however you apparently do have to break it in wiith 3" or 3.5" shells before it will cycle 2.75" shells reliably.

I was lucky as I bought the dealer's gun and he had already had done that for me:p So my MP-153 fires everything reliably. I have been shooting trap, skeet and 5-stand rounds with 2.75" shells without a hitch.

There have been vids posted on here that show torture test on Baikal guns. Dunking in ice fishing holes and then firing, mud puddles, sloping mud on an cleaining by dunking in lake ... also If I remember correctly a weekend long 14000 round endurance test that it passed.
I am a pump man but if I got a semi for hunting it would be a baikal.

I think I'm going to wait for one of those baikals to pop up on the Xchange forums:)

You'll be waiting a long time:D

Everyone I know who owns one loves it and won't part with it:p

Including myself;)

I hear good things about both the Mossy and Baikal
I'm partial to Mossbergs as I have 2 500 pumps but I do hear a lot of good things about Baikals
