Kind of a creepy shrine you've got there OP. 
BTW; never keep alcohol in crystal decanters (the alcohol speeds the rate of lead leeching from the crystal into the booze), glass decanters are a non issue as there usually isn't lead present in clear glass.
As for the gun...It's ok if you like that sort of thing.

Eventually I'm looking to build something approximating this but with magnified optics. The only thing I don't like it how high the optics sit above the bore line.

...and BTW ...shrines often contain ojects of worship...bars usually contain knick knacks and booze. I do like my new rifle, I obviously wouldn't have built it that way if I didn't. Thinking before speaking is wise on many levels...if you like that sort of thing.
