LMFAO extension, come on!
LMFAO extension, come on!
If I were in open, I would do the exact same thing.

Except you would have had something more powerful than 7.5 shot.
Or at least a tighter choke.
I know you said don't go on CGN and blame it on the 7.5 shot because I was warned.![]()
Where 6s are particularly useful is when you're shooting some matches where the steel is ridiculously heavy.
You mean "heavy" as in the mass of each individual target or "heavy" as in.."Geebus they sure do use a lot of steel targets"
That said... I've been using 7.5 with a modified or even an improved modified and have never had an issue against steel... And that's at matches where 100% of the targers are indeed steel... Or clays.
It wasn't that you were warned, its just that a choke can solve all those problems and then some.
I think I've read 2-3 threads lately about people shooting heavier shot, even as big as #4sGet the barrel threaded for chokes and you'll be golden.
I shot 7.5s at this match and didn't have any problem, even with only an IC on many stages. Where 6s are particularly useful is when you're shooting some matches where the steel is ridiculously heavy.
I am going to contact Casey and see if he can thread my barrel for me. I am shooting an IPSC shotgun match in Wentworth next Saturday. Hopefully I can have it done by then because it's all bird shot.
