What do you feel is the best trigger weight for a rifle used both for target (bipod) and hunting?

My vote is for 3 lb... light enough for target but heavy and safe enough for hunting and carrying in bush.

I chose 3lb as well 'cuz it's between 2.5 and 3.5 ;)

My Timney is reported to be 2.5# but most reviews I've seen say it is actually 3#. My reworked trigger that Wham-O did is around 3lbs as well.

For hunting, 2.5 to 3lb is good, especially as you mention carrying in the bush, then 3+ lb.

Anyone have a branch catch a trigger? I did when I was young, on a 22 that didn't really have a safety.

3 pounds is plenty light for me. My hands are beat up and don't have the best "feel" anymore from years of use in the metal machining trade.

That's what I like about the European hunting rifles. They already come at around 3 pounds, not 5-7 like a lot of the North American ones. I can see why I like the Brno's/CZ's and the Anschutz's so much for hunting.
