Buy or build I need some opinions please

My choices so far are to buy a savage LRPV in 260 rem or to build a 260 rem from stevens action and a prefit barrel (shilen or other from MYSTIC). My ultimate goal is a precision rifle for match shooting out to long range. What is the best way to go about this?. Thanks in advance for your help.

Build it.

There is only so much a factory barrel can offer you.

A quality match barrel is SOOOO much nicer.

Then there are trigger and stock options that will likely be a better fit.

Agreed. Build! It'll take more patience but you'll get way better bang for your buck and you won't end up having to slowly sell off bits and pieces that you cannibalize from the factory Savage as you add the aftermarket bits.

not sure yet what kind of match shooting. So a versatile rifle would be best.

With the way my funds come in, I will be doing builds for a while, I just can lay out a huge amount of money. I like being able to pay a little and shoot and improve things a bit here and a bit there.
