so my needs have brought me to the point where I need a good hunting shotgun. ducks and turkey. skeet, trap for fun

I am not to sure on my budget as of yet, since I am still recouping what I have spent on my other precision instruments.

looking to start my searches and value what the membership has to say.
would like to think around 2k budget, if your suggestion is more or less then that I would still be interested in hearing you out.

pumps, semi, over under, side by side
dont know what I need as of yet.

I would go Beretta or Benelli and pick whichever one fits you best. Shop around for a deal though as they are quite expensive. I am partial to Benelli as they fit me much better and their low maintenance simple design lends itself well to hunting applications.

Some models to consider:

Super Black Eagle
M2
Cordoba
Vinci(barf) ;)

Unico A400
Unico Xtreme

With 2K to spend, the hunting shotgun world is your oyster. Good sporting guns start at 2k, but for hunting your budget is definitely on the higher side. Good luck, shotgun shopping is the next best thing to shooting it :)

Best to align the two statements first and in the process, remove pump and sxs shotguns from the equation. A semi may be the more appropriate tool given the functions in scope.

I am going to try and run with
benelli for waterfowl in semi

beretta for upland in over under

great, now I have two shotguns I need to buy :p

still need a quality rifle to, sheesh.

Buying a nice light small bore upland gun is a good choice. It is carried more than shot.

All the other things - trap, skeet, ducks, geese, turkey - weight isn't an issue.

$1,000 for each type of gun would get you pretty decent guns.

I agree with this,

I like variety and 2 x 1k guns is better than one 2k gun, especially if you can match the gun more to its intended use

I'd have to agree...although...a Remington 870 Wingmaster would do the trick just as well!

A pump is not a great choice for shooting skeet. A very skilled shooter can do well at doubles with a pump, but it is a handicap for most people.
