Reloading 358 Win with BLC-2

Doing some reloading for a friends Browning BLRs in 358 Win. One has a low power scope and the other has open sights. They hunt only in the bush so I'm not looking for a sub MOA load. I just want a hard hitting load with the most velocity possible. I will be using 250gr Nosler Partitions. I have BLC-2 on hand and thought I would try that. Is there any reason I shouldn't? And is BLC-2 temp sensitive?

BLC-2 is acceptable powder for 250gr bullet in 358Win but a little on the fast side. The best velocity from my 20" barrel Win mod 88 in 358Win with Hornady 250gr RN bullet was 10-20FPS shy of 2400FPS propeled by TAC powder. I am sure that RL-12 and AA 2520 would be as good or even better.
 
Yes, it is a fine powder. BUT, it is a load where you should use the magnum primer. otherwise you can get the click-bang syndrome, or even the click-silence....

Don't ask me how I know.

My best results was with 53 gr of WW748 and a mag primer.

Yes, those Speer flat points bullets are very deep penetrating and extremly accurate bullets. Never ever had one with core and jacket separated. I use 180gr FP in my 35Rem and 220gr FP in my 358Win, have quite a large but quickly dissapearing supply of them b/c the new ones are unobtanium....
 
My buddy, Bert, whom some of you know, has used Ball C2 in his Rem Model 600 in 358 Winchester for more than 30 years: 45 gr with the 250 gr Speer spitzer gets over 2200 fps out of that short barrel, and just plain kills stuff. Moose, caribou, bears, all go down with that load. It is quite accurate, and very easy on brass.
