M2A1 Halftrack Resto dialup beware

The rear floor is still sitting at the fabricator as far as i know. Its been done for a month. The seller is waiting on the fab guy to finish off stuff for others and sending it one load. So far I have been ok with this (brownie points) but there is parts i need that i want shipped with the floor to save me on shipping. I have all the stuff to put the drivetrain together, so I don't need rear floor or armour yet as i still have enough to keep me busy. I will video the first engine start hopefully this week

Has the rear armor come in yet? Got pics? Too bad it's mild steel - would be great to get real armour plate :)

Brake lines are done and engine is in. I decided that I will test start the engine in the frame as i can also hook up the rad to check its condition hopefully soon.

Rear floor is still a no show, but miscellaneous parts are coming in from 2 different sources to keep me busy end of this week

How was the condition for the suspension linkage and the parts that are already installed? are they replacements or originals just cleaned up and painted?

It's looking great, you must be pleased with progress to date.

I really can't wait to see the cab and rear armour go back on. Are you going to just run the engine, or will you also install and idle the drivetrain?

There blasted, just not painted yet. New paint on bolts goes to crap when tightening them. That's what touch ups are for lol

I've seen that so many times. Someone restoring an old car and paints all the bolt heads and then tears the crap out of them when they tighten them up.

Much wiser to touch up after. Points for Vettes!

Just noticed this tread. What a massive undertaking!!! Having restored old cars I know how much work there is to do. A half-track would be much harder IMO. Great looking job so far.
