Hey guys member here from your southern neighbor and I would love to get input from my Canadian friends since yyou guys dominate the VZ aftermarket.

Last week I found a good deal on the Troy railed stock adapter off eBay so I went for it with intentions of getting a cantilever mount and adding a scope to the rifle. I know it's not a target rifle but I figured it would be fun for the range.... Was this a bad choice?

Concerns;

It looks like the cantilever mounts can't be purchased anywhere new. I've already posted a WTB ad looking for a used one (on our CZ/VZ forum).

Troy doesn't even mention use of a cantilever mount on the website, just BUIS... It's the same as the NEA railed stock adapter correct?

I'm thinking worst case scenario... VZ-58 pistol with sight bases removed and BUIS for a longer sight radius (when they become available to us later this year).

Would love to hear input from those who have/had used the Troy railed stock adapter. Pictures of your set up. What stock did you choose and why?

I'm currently running NEA upper/lower, Fab folding sttock w/ adjustable riser, FAB pistol grip, Crusader break.

Thanks guys!!!

if the troy has a rail on the top of it then you shold be fine once NEA's cant mount is down there and ready for sale. If not then you might have to purchase NEA's railed stock adapter to work with the cantilever mount.

Always good to see our neighbours come by the site!!!!!!!!!

The Troy adapter is the same as our railed adapter. We manufactured a line of VZ products licensed to Troy.

The Cantilever mount was recently discontinued. You may have some luck trying one of our Canadian dealers to see if there's one in stock left somewhere.

The adapter was originally designed to mount a BUIS only, but we created an add-on rail adapter afterwards. While it worked, it was ugly. We axed it because we have another competing product on the books that will axe it anyways.

May i ask why it was desided to discontinue this product? What I would love to see is an adaptor for original folding stock instead of the AR stock. Would add the inch or so to length and still allow fixing of optics to the rear of the rifle.

See post No.3, they have a replacement product in the works.
Maybe they will come up with a mount that allows you to keep the original stock?

yeah, in another post he said that their original mount looked ugly. So it seems it is going to be a type of solid dust cover replacement which would be great if they manage to keep it from loosing zero.
