Hungry, 2 hours west of Burns Lake, but you're close. Enjoy the rest of your time on the left coast!

rascal1, attend a clinic first, then consider different muzzle fashions.

That really was too much fun. No wonder everyone wants to return.

Oh, hey guys
Lost and found hehehe

1 unopened package of assorted sandpapers
1 small plastic bottle of acetone
1 steel punch
1 wooden bristle brush
1 Camping chair - blue (jamie's)
1 tupperware with JB weld ect. (We think it's Hungry's so went with Shawn to Dundurn)

Hmmm some towels,

Let me know if yer missin anything. ;)
Yup, that tupperware container with the JB weld was mine, and yes, that acetone bottle was part of it too. Anyways, what is/was sent with Shawn to SK is all good. Plastic squeeze bottles are replaceable and so is acetone. It's all good.

If you really want, hang on to it for next year or until we meet again. Or mail it out with that super customized ICR plastic Norc stock. I can paint it TAN. No worries. Looking forward to doing a review on it...

Cheers,
Barney

Hey , I'm gonna be in the whitby/oshuwa area sometime this year. Should we do a clinic :D

I've got one of them stocks aviallable and one that's now 1/2 finished with yer name on it Barney ;) pm me yer mailin info.

Definitely an EPIC clinic! I hope there'll be another one closer to my place. I missed the one in Ottawa, but then again, I didn't own an M-14 yet at that time. :(

I'd like to ask the question again, since nobody has answered it, yet. What is the Israeli Mag Change? Is it the one done by holding the rifle by the grip with the right hand, while at the same time operating the mag catch with the top front of the loaded mag being held beer bottle style in the left hand? You push the mag catch and with the same move push the empty mag forward and out of the rifle clearing the way for the loaded mag already positioned right at the mag well. That can yield a very quick mag change, all that is left to do is to reach underneath the rifle with the same hand that pushed the loaded mag in, in order to hit the operating rod on the other side allowing it to slam forward.

Anyways, I've never tried it with my M-305, but it works fairly well with my CZ-858. Although I think it can be even quicker with an AK.

Hells ya on the clinic when you are in Southern Ontario if you guys can make it work. That would be awesome! Just need to keep my fingers crossed I'm not stuck on ex or something when it happens.

Matt

Save your money if you shoot left, you don't need a Tac-Release. A quick rearward slap on the op-rod and you're GTG. Finally one of the few breaks a left shooter gets in the gun addiction.

Unless you ever foresee having to shoot weak hand ;)

I am a lefty and have one. I practice weak hand too tho, it is not for every one but something to think about.

Modified prone being another one of the few. :D

Not really, you are supposed to be strong shoulder down. If you shoot it weak shoulder down it defeats the purpose of urban/modified prone.

The whole purpose is to get the barrel as close to the ground as possible to shoot under or through things. If you shoot it weak shoulder down you end up with your rifle higher then regular prone.

Unless you mean a different shooting positon, there are so many and the names cross over :p

Shawn

Soon, I will be pushing all of you into the reverse prone! Git ready fer that! ;)

In Fort Mac now at the Mcdonald Island rec/library complex... now I understand why they call this ; Fort MakeMoney! :D

I found the Smith Tac Release in my briefcase when I returned to Calgary for the TWO clinics on the weekend of 21 and 22 July. We installed it on Sat, 21 July. We used the existing Norc pin and the Smith unit was a little snug with said Norc pin. A bit of grease and it's working OK now, but I might just chuck it up in a drill and spin it with some sand paper to smooth things up when I get home long weekend in August.

One of you kind fellas showed me a set of punches from Snap On tools, really long and skinny. And flexible, I might add. What a wonder punch! Really cool set of punches from Snap On...

It was fun meeting and then screaming at all you BC folks. I never got to know any of you with yer CGN handles and names. Except for What's his name from Terrace...

Cheers,
Barney

The punches was me, they are called transfer punches and have nipple on the end specificly for punching roll pins. The nipple prevents the pin from being deformed.

You can get them almost anywhere that sells tools.

Shawn

Shawn you have a good point; I hadn't considered weak side shooting.

What I did notice was that after Dan installed that one on his, he and others with them had the bolts close accidentally when handling them around the bench. It's not a big deal, just that you have to be more careful laying them down on their left side with the bolt locked open.

There is probably no final answer to this as the next level technique (reverse prone?) will probably have everyone wanting another new gadget, or dropping old ones. Remember the muzzle break idea?

It's raining today, and the cool temperatures just reminded me of how hot we were in the BC Interior at nearly 40 degrees celsius. I hope all of you BC dudes are practicing your modified prone for hunting season.. ha ha ha ha :D

Cheers,
Barney
