Norinco 45 brass is crap

Okay, this is just a bit of a warning. I know some people have had success reloading the norinco 45 ACP brass however in the 50 or so rounds I tried to deprime only a couple of them did. I am using a lee FL resizer and decapper which has nor issues depriming other brands of brass but it almost never succeeds at depriming the norinco stuff, even after I screwed in the decapping rod as far down as it would go.

Unless I am completley oblivious to something this brass is crap. Rant off.

Check your decapping pin, it may be broken and 2 short

I use the same die and have had no problem so far.

Is your decapping pin piercing the anvil, then pulling the primer back into the pocket? Has been a common problem, change shape of pin(make it less sharp).

I run them successfully through my dillon 550b using dillon dies. The only thing I noticed is the primer pocket on some were a bit tight the press did not have the oompf to seat the primer 100% so I had to hand prime to get the new primer the last 1/32inch in.

I have fixed this problem by sharpening the decapping pin on Dillon sizing dies. The pin is likely sticking inside the primer anvil and pulling the primer back into the pocket.

As others have said its possibly your decaping pin getting stuck in the primer... Just reshape it a little smoother...

Happed to me ALL the time with .223 brass untill I got the pin just perfect.

It's the same with the 9mm, nothing but problems. It constantly drove my decapping pin up and was very hard to get the brass off the casing because the flash hole was too small.

I've had no problem with my Lee 1000 depriming the Norinco 45 brass. I've only done 4-500 but I've had zero issues with depriming. Maybe there are variations in batches?
