I just thought I would share my new rifle and the fun I had this morning at the range. First off thank you SFRC for the fast and great interaction for supplying me with my new JR Carbine. From the time your received payment until it was in my hands it was 5 days. From Ontario to BC, thats pretty good service.
So before heading in for another exciting nightshift I decided to get my ass out of bed early and head to the range. Took my fine shiny new rifle with its nice new optic and 300 rounds and off I went.
Took five minutes and 15 rounds to dial in the red dot and I have to say, this Lucid HD7 friggin rocks.
The rifle:
Standard out of the box JR CArbine 40 Cal 18 inch barrel (Non-restricted)
Drilled out that stupid pin in the stock to make it adjustable.
I loaded up all my G22 mags and decimated some paper. I was absolutely blown away at the accuracy of this rifle, and putting 10 rounds within a quarter size hole at 30 yards was easy from an unsupported position.
Rapid fire the rifle is easy to control and double taps easy and accurate. I unloaded three 10 round mags as fast as I could pull the trigger and at 30 yards all the rounds were within 5-6 inches within 3 seconds per mag.
I ran this rifle hard today, putting 300 rounds through it and had 3 fail to fires, and that was likely crappy Winchester 180 Gr white box ammo. I had zero FTF or FTE and running the rounds as fast as I could through the rifle it ate everything up.
I also found out that it will fire a chambered round without a mag in it.
I have to say I am extremely happy with this rifle and cant wait to go hiking and have some fun.
My only knock on this rifle is the fact it doesnt lock back on the last round...but I can just suck it up I suppose.
The Lucid HD7 optic is a multi reticle red dot and is by far the best red dot I have ever used on a rifle. Easy to zero, and bang on and easy to use.
Next week I plan on heading out and doing some long range stuff to see how the Lucid does its job, and with all the reviews I've seen it should continue to kick ass.
Now I just have to order in some accessories for it to fully trick it out.
This package cost just a little over $1300.00 taxes and shipping. For a non-restricted rifle, I think that pretty damn good.
This rifle may not be everyones cup of tea, but after today, it is a great fun and accurate rifle.
a little eye candy, but nothing too cool yet.
sorry for the last pic, doesnt want to sit right
