My friggin awsome JR Carbine 40 Cal

Sorry no 10mm

I am holding out for a 10mm JRC. A guy can hope.

From the FAQ portion of the JR site w*w.justrightcarbines.com/FAQs.html

Q: When will you offer the JR Carbine in 10mm? The JR Carbine is a direct-blowback design. The bolt is entirely inertial and does not lock when in battery, and the barrel breech does not depress upon firing, so there is no mechanical action to absorb some of the recoil energy as there is in the 1911 or Glock, for example. When the gun is fired the bolt's mass is not enough by itself to sufficiently slow the bolt's recoil, even when using the standard AR-15 aluminum buffer with its own internal sliding weights. In order to adequately slow the JR Carbine's bolt down the bolt in the JR Carbine it has a solid steel buffer to augment the mass of the bolt. Our buffer is significantly heavier than the standard AR-15 aluminum buffer, and is sufficient for the energies developed by the 9mm, 40S&W. and 45ACP. Unfortunately, the full power 10mm generates too much energy (37,500 psi) to accommodate through increased buffer mass within the limited confines of the buffer tube and still permit sufficient fore-and-aft bolt travel for the gun to function. Using a significantly denser material for the buffer - like tungsten, for example - might accommodate the higher power of the 10mm, but it would be cost prohibitive. Using reduced power 10mm cartridges might work, but then the performance would be much like the 40S&W and the advantage of the 10mm would be lost. For these reasons we do not plan to offer the JR Carbine in 10mm (or other high power cartridges such as .357 Sig, .40 Super, or .460 Rowland, for example).

Nice to see another positive JRC post... Ive been having so much fun with my XCR and benelli m4 that I kinda forgot about my Jr9mm..time to take her out i guess. The JR vs Sub2K thing....well, would you prefer to be beaten with a JRC or a Sub? im not nocking the S2K, neet gun for sure, as Ive said befor the lill lady has one and loves it...way to much plastic.

I guess you just prefer the feel of cheap plastic...To each his own.

maybe it was that the entire thing was made of decent metal and felt like a tank other than the cheap plastic M16 style grip that threw me off.

I guess it's all about an equal quality feel throughout the gun. Plus the folding idea in NR was a cool feature for when 4x4'ing / camping to be able to take it on a hike in my backpack and use it as a 'truck gun' without being the heavy tank that the JRC is.

I am not knocking it or trying to be negative or derogatory, I was just giving my opinion that it didn't feel right in my hands when I was looking for a NR Carbine. I am glad that it suits some and seems to be a decent performer and it's always nice to see people have positive experiences with new toys.

That's just it, to each their own. I've seen and handled firearms that I thought were so fugly and uncomfortable that I would never think of getting one, but others seemed to think they were excellent. The JRC is a tank, but I like my guns to be able to take a fall without worrying about parts breaking.

brought some newbies to the range on wen, let them put another 600rds through my 9mm rapid fire and all, broke it down and cleaned it on day one, at 5000 give or take 50 no problems just pure and total fun.

Damnit, this is on my radar too...along with a XCR-L and a Benelli M4. Why do I have to pick such a f**kn expensive hobby.

They have been pretty popular. A good upgrade down the road is a longer hand guard...I think it makes it look nicer with the longer barrel. We just had more 40 S&W and 45 ACP ones come in btw

I'm thinking of picking up the JR 40S&W. I have a G22, which sometimes I convert to a 9mm - ie. cheaper and fit more 9mm rounds in a G22 mag.

Can the JR be easily converted to shoot 9mm, just like the glock?
