What's your favourite grouse or small game gun?

I have several shotguns and will take a different one out every weekend this fall to see how the feel doing this kind of job. I have several SxS in 12, 16 and 20 gauge and a few 20 gauge options as well. I was wondering what most of you use for this kind of game.

Thanks!

If I'm not taking a .22 I like the 20 gauge, 16 gauge, and 12 gauge depending on my mood that day, and what type of grouse I'm hunting. Usually use 7 1/2 or 8 shot. I find the .410 to be a little small with too sparse a pattern. Don't own a 28.

A full choke for greater distances and a C or IC for flushing close birds. Modified is probably the best all around if you have only one choice.

If taking a shotgun, I steal my wife's 20 ga Stoeger IGA Condor if she hasn't got it in use. Generally though, my .17 HMR CZ 452.

my pre-model 24 savage .22/410.

Same here..........Throws a pattern like a base ball .Shot skeet,Huns and pigeons out to 30 yards.........Slugs hit a cup at 50 yards everytime.....back when Savage bothered to regulate the barrels.Days gone by where QC was important........Harold

.410 break-open 3" #6 shells.

I just picked up my a second for my daughter to use this fall. I am going to scope my Norinco .22 bolt for those longer range shots when they are sunning themselves in the middle of the trail.

My sweet little Remington 870 "Special Field" in 20 ga.

At 5-1/2 lbs. & a 21" barrel makes for my favorite upland gun....

Once it snows & it's rabbit hunting time, my Savage FSS .22 Mk-II is what I carry...

With the single shot adaptor, becomes very versatile for those short .22's

Oh ya, I got carried away.....it is a grouse gun thread, but once in awhile I do use the .22 for grouse.....LOL.

For grouse. Like to use a sling shot or my walther lothar nighthawk pellet pistol when I'm in the north. Down south here I use a 410 or 12ga sxs. I love my rossi 37 as well but its not a tack driver so I use cb longs and shoot for the body

Boy that is a tough one. I am going to have to say 870 wingmaster in 28ga but lately I have been taking a 16ga bps upland with the english stock and loving that gun also.

I have a Browning Cynergy in 12 ga. I really love this shotgun. I use the cheap target loads (#8) for grouse and more potent ammo for pheasants. I also have a remington 870 20 ga I use sometimes as well.

Normally I go with my Maverick 88 12ga with 30in full choke barrel or my Mossberg 802 Plinkster but since the maverick broke I picked up a Weatherby PA-08 upland 12ga with a 28 in multi choke barrel.
