Picked up a Rem 1100 thats stamped Trap on receiver and it came with an extra barrel.I would like to know which barrel is original to the gun.It has a mod choked barrel on it now and the extra barrel is stamped Skeet.I'm thinking the skeet barrel should be the original barrel but not 100% sure.
Thanks Guys !

The mod barrel is the original the skeet he bought later however both could have also been original to the gun. I have a brand new unfired 1100 trap that I won in a competition around 1983 and it came factory with a two barrel set a VR 30" 2 3/4" full choked barrel for trap and also a VR 26" skeet barrel.

Buddy just dropped off a box for the extra barrel. The box is for mod choke and he said now he remembers buying the mod barrel a couple yrs later.I guess the sheet barrel was on it when he bought it new.

I cant imagine a trap gun coming new with a skeet barrel. Look at the barrel codes and date the barrels, then email remington the serial # on your reciever and ask for date of manufacture. See what kind of differences you come up with.

IF it had the skeet new someone i.e the gunshop switched it before he bought it. Rem didnot send out trap marked receivers from the factory with skeet barrels. Many of those trap receivers had 34" trap barrels on them which I would say someone scooped up prior to selling it new.
