K just a quickie for those in the know..

My NEA15 hasnt arrived yet, so i cant check this for myself, but im wondering if putting a 10" rail on the 14.5" carbine would expose the gasblock so that i could then change it out with something else ( integrated flip up front post/gas block )

also if anyone knows the barrel thickness? couldnt see the info on the NEA website

it should be exposed, perhaps not entirely but it should some.

the good thing is that the gas block is really easy to take off, as NEA seems to forget to tighten them down before sending them out to customers.:D

I don't think you can see with a 10" rail. Remember they also offer a 14.5" with a 9" rail and you can't see the gas block on it.

i was thinking that same thing. there are other brands that make a quadrail that has a cutout for the gas block/sight base. is the 14.5" a mid length gas block?

Not to my knowledge... I have not spoken to anyone at NEA about barrel specifics in a few months so things may have changed but last I heard, everything under the DMR was a carbine-length gas system.
