Does anybody else have any experience with this rifle? It’s my 1st "precision" rifle and am curious about the level of accuracy people are getting out of it.

Last weekend I shot x2 5 round group measuring at 1.5'' at 200 YDS using federal gold match 168grain BTHP.

(harris bipod and rear sand bag)

i assume the rifle is capable of much more and its just user error. I would love to get into hand loads to tighten that group up.

Try a heavier bullet next time, your rifle with a twist rate of 1:10 will stabilize them better, try some 175 grain bullets

get into reloading. factory gun, factory ammo and new shooter = a very good start. learn to make better ammo and learn to control your shooting technique and things will get better.

I think that was pretty good for your first time out with it, from a bi-pod, .75 moa. Keep working on your shooting tenique and try some different loads. Try a front rest rather than the bi-pod just to see what it is capable of. What do you have for optics?
Take care, Cheers Roscoe

In my experience, these are great results for a Savage with factory ammo. Probably a bit above average, should get better with hand loading.

Definitely not my first time out, been hunting and shooting since I was 10. Shot large bore competitively out to 1000yds back in my cadet days in Connaught.

Scope on my rifle is a vortex viper 6/24/50. FFP

I will try to get my hands on some 175 grain and see how they group. I hope to get into reloading soon.

thanks for your help guys, really appreciate it.

I have a Savage 10BA with the Magpul PRS stock.
I shoot 180gr Sierra Matchkings backed by 41.4gr of Varget in Lapua brass using BR-2 primers.
I'm still developing a load for the rifle with the Lapua brass.
My 2 best 5 round groups I shot today were less than 0.5moa from 100M
