XCR-M (tan) Pics-o-plenty.....UPDATE..Post 26 (stock swap)

I really like it in the FDE. It does look kind of familiar though, except for the duct-tape cheek rest. Hope you like yours as much as I'm enjoying mine.

Thx for the tip. Before I buy another set of rings, i'll try that out.

Plan on testing this weekend.

The reason I recommended that quick release mount rather than just adjusting the stock: The Falcon 4-14x FFP scope, I'm assuming you went with the ML16 reticle? is pretty good for all around. Say you wanted to put it on an AR15, AR10, Tavor, etc. With the Quick release mount it's two release levers away from working on all of those rifles. Especially for ammo testing when you may use a scope that's higher magnification that what will usually sit on that firearm. Just a bit of long term planning.

Nice looking rifle. Looking forward to accuracy reports.

Before & After....stock swap

So I thought I'd mod my new toy. Swapped out the folder for a Magpul PRS. Also was able to buy some Magpul PMAGS in .308 from Questar.

Very nice!! what length barrel you got on there?

18.6"

That length of pull must be ridiculous.

The LOP is good now. The folder was shorter...not sure exactly how much, but this shoots way better now. (feels better with the PRS...looking at the pics, the folder looks almost as long as the PRS)

Definite weight increase. This ain't no "draggin through the bush, chasing moose" gun anymore.

As for overall accuracy...I rolled up some 168gr Sierra HPBT. Used 3 different propellants...not happy with the results. This gun seems to like the lighter bullets. I'll re-visit my load data I gathered from my first batch of 155 gr Sierra HPBT....and do a good solid OCW test.

I guess you don't care if it's a range queen but I personally definitely wouldn't use something that long. Just sayin'.

This current setup fits me perfect.

As for this gun being a range queen.....um, unless the gun in your pic is non-restricted...the CFC dictates where you can fire your gun. I still have a choice. Just sayin'

I chose a random picture of a PRS mounted on an AR-15 off google as a visual reference, it could be some Texan's varmint gun for all I know.

My buddy just got one in black and we have been to the range with it twice in the last three days. I can not stress how impressed I am with this machine, the accuracy of this gun went way beyond my expectation for a semi auto and being able to switch the gas system off for that extra little is perfect - if your thinking about getting one DO IT, you won't be sorry

Except the fact that mine broke after 18 shots, ya you won't be sorry if you get one!
