Found a good deal on a Monarch 4-16x42 With the BDC recticle and just lookign for any good or bad reviews on this scope. Also for the Price ($580) what other options are out there? Keep in mind i want something more than a 3-9. Thanks

I am getting the same scope but with Mildot reticle. Optics are good especially at that price point, adjustments are solid. You can get target turrets for it. It is also a compact/short scope compared to others in that power/objective size range.

Check prices at Prophet River, link at top of page ;) (hint, it's $499)

The only downside with this scope is the one inch tube...
I'm looking for a scope for my swedish mauser, mainly for deer and varmint hunting and I found this one very interesting and reviews are good too but I would like to have a 30mm tube scope... Dohhhhhh !!!

I would like to see one with target turrets if you have any pics...
Found this company, they make target turrets...

The only real advantages of a 30mm tube is greater elevation and windage adjustment, plus it is usually stronger because of the larger diameter tube. Optically, there really isn't any difference. Keep in mind this is a $500 scope.

Nikon does make a similar, higher quality, 30mm tube scope with target turrets, but it's around $1300. It used to be priced much cheaper, which made it a bargain, now not so much.

One of my reasons for this scope is it is much more compact than most other scopes in this magnification range. One rifle it's going on is a higher end 22. It is well proportioned to that rifle.

Target turrets are available directly from Nikon. (i believe) http://www.nikonhunting.com/products/accessories/turret_kits/1_4-MOA_High_Pro/6004

Elevation... That's why I want a 30mm tube...
The Monarch got 60 MOA of elevation adjustment wich is not bad for a 1 inch tube but I would like to have more for long range varmint hunting !!!

What is your budget?

That Nikon I'm getting is only 40 MOA, but that's one of the things the Mildot's are for ;).

Be aware that just because a scope has a 30 mm tube doesn't mean it has more adjustment. Bushnell 6500 is a 30mm but has less than 50 MOA.

Try the Sightron Siii series 30mm tubes, starting at $850. Depending on which model they have 70 to 100 MOA total. (100 MOA is over $1k)

I dunno where I have found the 60 MOA looks you are right about the 40 MOA !!! Its even worse !!!

My budget is max 600 bucks 4 the scope new or used... I have a NF nxs on my 308 and I can't afford to buy another one :p

At this point I'm better to start another thread :D

Viper PST or Sightron Sii Big Sky used. Probably just a few dollars above your budget.
