The EE is your best bet. They the local shops. I've got the blued versions (a 17-4) and it's not leaving any time soon for the reasons you've already mentioned and a few more: Accurate and cheap to shoot.

The blued 17 is darn nice too. Unless you're really keen on the 10 shot cylinder vs 6.

Bring lots of money whichever way to choose to buy. The hold their price well because they are so popular.

I had one and traded it for a 686. For some odd reason I found it heavy especially with an optic on it. Very accurate, just heavy. Even more odd is I don't find the 686 to be as heavy even though it weighs the same. Currently looking for a M17. The shortened version would be ideal. TC
