Wondering if anyone with one of the new 9mm 1911s has changed out the sights?

Is there any options for front fiber optics or a complete set that will fit the existing cuts or are they some weird dovetails?

Interested in hearing from anyone who's tried this and what cuts they had to machine, etc.

Thanks.

I have a NP29 as well, but haven't actually replaced the sights yet. I'm sure at some point I will, but it sounds like the front dovetail needs to be milled out to fit whatever sight you want, since it's an oddball cut. (or you can cut the sight base down to fit, alternatively)

Here's a quote from IRC when I had a question about the sight cuts on the NP29.

Rear sight dovetail is standard Wison .330 X 60 degree dovetail. Front is smaller than the colt/wilson .300 X 60 and i could not find anything to match. I used a .300x60 front and milled the sight base to fit the Norinco dimensions.

I am considering new sights too, the previous information has been helpful.

Here is a link that is also helpful.
