XCR or Swiss?

The Swiss arms is a truly beuatiful rifle, I used to have one but traded it on a ww2 sniper rifle. Are you going non restricted for sure because IMO an AR-15 is the best performance for money for .223 though the Swiss Arms rifles are a work of art if you can afford one.
 
I have never had a Swiss but a buddy does and he is very happy. That being said I have an XCR in 223 and love it.

I think your budge will dictate which one.

One upside, the XCR will use 10 round mags out of the box without needing an adapter, may be a valid selling point for you.

I had a very bad experience with my XCR.

My Swiss has an NEA lower, so I run AR stocks and 10 round mags. ;)

What can I say, my XCR has worked for me so far and for $2,500.00 good value.On the other hand I would love the Swiss Arms rifle, but I can't justify spending $4,000.00 on a .223 maybe a .308 that in my opinion, makes this an over priced Black rifle.I keep feeding FMJ 55g and 62g bullets in this XCR and dial up the gas settings and it ticks like a metronome.I hear on the internet some bad stories about the XCR and I'm thinking maybe a bad batch some how made it past quality control from the plant. On the breakin period of this rifle they recommend going through the rifle to see what has shaken loose. I ran 250 rnds the first time and the shell ejection port was loose and a screw on the stock was also loose. I've taken it out again nothing out of the ordinary happened. I think all of these mishaps I hear on the net is the result of not checking out your firearms before using them. Just my take.

I have an XCR, quite happy with it. No quality issues, malfs or problems that I've had. Added a Dlask stock adapter and run an M4 style stock and 10rnd mags.
 
XCR,Seems to be the most adaptable platform,Fire the hell out of your barrel buy a replacement and switch it out in less than 5min.Get a 1in 7 twist for heavier grain.Or get the 762 set for some cheap fun.Or get the swiss and baby it because you spent way too much for it.Up to you.
 
The earlier XCR's are known to have some issues which is common for new firearms especially coming from a company with no history starting from scratch.

That being said I have seen the tests they did on the SIG 550 not quite the same but they were pretty severe and the rifles kept ticking. Some of the 552's were used by PMC's overseas and they seemed to work fine.

The new XCR's have been improved a bit and the new adjustable stock is pretty nice.

I baby my Swiss Arms by using water to wash the mud off it instead of urine. I spoil that princess even more by throwing her parts into a tub of used ATF afterwards:p
 
Another vote for the XCR-L. Fired over 500 rounds so far and no issues what so ever. Accuracy is very good and has never skipped a beat.
 
I've never had the chance to try a Swiss, but I've put about 400 rounds through my XCR in .223 and never had a failure. It also shoots pretty decent - about 2-3 MOA with almost everything, better than 2 MOA with MFS 62gr. soft-points and about 1 MOA with some 75gr. hand loads (very preliminary, but showing lots of promise).

I'm currently looking for a 7.62x39 conversion for my XCR. Having that option at such an affordable price is, IMHO, a big plus for the XCR.
