Nice A.R.M.S. sight. I initially tried to match it with the Silhouette folding A2 but got scared once I learned how difficult it was to remove the Norc's A2.

That's the A.R.M.S. 70L SP (Same Plane) sight. It's a very nice sight, but when it deploys, the long range (small aperture) sight is the default. You have to fold down the small aperture to get to the large battle aperture, which isn't that easy to do, especially with gloves on. I do like the "notch" feature on the top of both aperture sights...very neat idea for shooting in a hurry.

its the same with Magpul MBUS

doesnt matter if you're running a dot, but if you run a scope or magnified optic that comes over the top of the MBUS rear, then you are in trouble

What a blast from the past!!! I posted here on post 3 when I first got my Norinco and posted pics of some changes I made. I still have the tank and it still hasn't failed me after thousands of rounds. Just love it. Doesn't look exactly like the earlier pics I posted but not that much different. The Mastercraft tool bench is still kicking. lmao

My first AR. All stock out of the box with a Sparc instead of irons.
Shot 600 rounds in the past 48 hours, I can't stop shooting it! :D
I thought shooting the M14 was expensive, but the LAR mags cost more per hour, but its worth every penny.

Only thing I don't like about it so far is the grip and the trigger. Replacing the grip is cheap, but the trigger is something different. Does the norc trigger get much better over time?

Finally got most of my parts in and together. The only thing left of the norc on it is the upper and barrel :p I'm still waiting for my magpul stock to get here and haven't decided if i want to go red dot or scope yet. Hopefully i can find some time to taker it to the range soon!

My buddy and I ordered two 10.5's from Epps last week (645.00ea) we put 500 rounds through them with "zero" problems" we are more than happy with the purchase. Only complaint is trigger pull is a bit grindy. I have not tried to polish up yet.

Any new updates on the 10.5"?

How they holding up?

Still need another upper and just keep holding out for some real reviews on all the newly introduced AR15s

The parts will mate to each other - don't try polishing them, AR trigger parts are surface hardened only, so polishing them just reduces the thickness of the hardening and the life of the parts. You can also swap in a new trigger/hammer/disconnector. These parts are available individually or in sets from the usual places.

Quite a few people buying the Norinco CQ...Some who've spent a lot then realizing what a great gun the Norinco is.

It really is a great AR as far as reliability. A gun dealer told me it's the one they get back the least for repairs/issues of all the ARs they sell. He actually called it overbuilt. lol Don't know about that but you definitely hear far fewer issues with these ARs than a lot of the more expensive ones. I have seen this first hand with the one I own and every single person I know that owns one.

Good to know, thanks enefgee. This Geissele Super Semi-Automatic (SSA®) trigger from Arms East is tempting.
4.5lbs meets the min. req. for service rifle, and I can handle the price at $230.00
