You should take a look at LRB ARMS, M14 with the M25 Receiver. The Springfield Arms is going to have to have a side mounted scope mount, just like the Norincos and all others. I bought a M14 with M25 receiver from LRB, and it shoots MOA as good as some Bolt Actions.
If you plan on adding a scope later, just take a look at what LRB has to offer.

Why you try to push something else ? This is a direct question, if you cannot answer- then do not.-- There is a ton a reason why not to want an LRB or a Norinco or any M14 clone. He want a genuine Springfield - so it is his choice.

Nothing like having someone else think for you. Now, if the question was what would you recommend in a M1A type rifle? then it would be fair game along with the obligatory poll.

I looked at one from Firearmscanada but was a scam others had fallen victim to. There is a lot of scammers there. I bought my M1A from Saskatoon Gunworks and man it is worth every cent.

Heres my springfield that I got from wantsall took me 2 months to get it. They seem to be the only one who gets them in regularly.

The plastic stock was really cheesy and didn't like the feel. Bought a sage ebr stock and love it!
