Hello everyone,

I want to install trijicon night sights on this barrel for my 870

But can't seem to get the front sight post out of its groove.

The only method explaining how to do this is carefully tapping it out with a brass punch and hammer.

I've tried nearly half an hour of that method and it won't budge.

Any tips on removing it?

Thanks

It should come out from-left-to-right. Use a good solid bench for support, and support the ramp, don't baby the sight as it can be in quite tight.

Got it out, thank you kindly on the advice:D

Just curious, I want my new trijicon sights to be extra durable, is it advisable to apply some kind of adhesive with the site? If so what kind?

Thanks again

Durable!?...not too much you can do there. It you are talking about keeping the sight tight and non-moving in the dovetail then I would degrease the joint, install the sight, then add a wee bit of green Loctite to the joint.

But if the joint is tight you shouldn't need any adhesive at all.
