Hi guys , noob here need to ask questions..

I tried a Kriss super v restricted version this week end and i totally felt in love..

I want a short black gun.. .22lr,9mm,40s&w,.45acp.. and add an EOtech or whatever. they all cost around 2000$

I got a fetish for hk usc45 or famae saf. i would like to have an mp5 but we cant even have an H&k rimfire mp5.

Can you guys tell me all models available in canada in this type of civilian Semi-auto Machine Gun.. Are those guns classified as a rifle or not? i know they are restricted for sure..

And your opinion on each one please i really want a gun like this!

answers please.

what about a csa 7" shorty in 7.62 or .223?

throw a side mount scope mount on it for your eotech

900 bucks + 60 for the mount + tax

Or if you must have pistol caliber - BRS99 can be had for 1600 + tax

it's gonna be a range only toy anyways.....

I say go with the kriss. The ergos on it are great an the recoil system is very creative. But seems to be lacking without full auto.

yes of course i want a range toy only.. but i need to know every models available "aka not banned" in canada please help.. i will buy a cz858 soon so no for the csa .223 7" i prefer the full length version.

i want something with a stock.. gotta admit the brs99 is appealing :) maybe one day.

by the way how do we call those type of rifles? i hate to call em civilian SMG lol.. i dont even know how to call em.. these are black rifles right? first time i touched that kind of weapon..

thanks for answering anyway man

.

One term I've heard is "PCC - Pistol Caliber Carbine". Back in the 1980's they just called 'em "9mm Carbines", but that's a while ago.

As far as the forum is concerned, yes they belong to Black Rifle discussions.

Pretty remiss of all of you to mention all those SMGs and not the FN PS90 :)

Yes, the awesome FN bullpup SMG (yes this is the P90) can be had for a cool 3-4 grand. High cost but awesome gun. I think you can even get a non-restricted barrel for it. Honestly though I just went with a non-restricted Kriss and haven't stopped having fun with it :), recoil management makes it a very fun shooter. Can you really beat the PS90 as the ultimate black rifle SMG though?

Aesthetically speaking the KRISS i find is hideous.....it may function well...but.....reminds me of Star Wars laser blasters

The FAMAE SAF is probably the most interesting "SMG style" rifle available at the moment. One of them is definitely on my short list of things to buy, after the 542 and type 81 of course. :D

I think it looks like a stapler

If you guys choose guns because of aesthetics rather than function, I can see why you are all hating on the Kriss. Honestly though, it shoots really well and the recoil management system does work and causes it to have the large block in the middle. Also helps that it fires a massive .45 round - way more fun to shoot than an HK USC.

:ar15: !!!! MASSIVE .45 ROUND !!!! :p Sorry I had to lol a little bit at this.

Also, its a pistol caliber carbine, the benefits of its recoil management system are largely lost on the fact that we have it semi-auto only. Full auto is where it would shine, singe shots with a .45 in a carbine could hardly be called recoil of any sort.

That being said, it is a unique firearm and I can see its appeal for being different and ultra-modern.

Right, because there are so many 50 caliber or rifle round submachine guns out there lol. .45 is pretty massive considering most submachine guns I've seen out there are 9mm . I'm not even gonna get into the full-auto debate lol - but you know, rapid-firing the kriss is still pretty fun, and still much more manageable for my girlfriend than any other SMG out there. I also don't give a crap how it looks; it's great ergonomically and functions well. What about the SCAR? The thing looks kind of retarded to me yet everyone wants it.

it is an answer to a problem no one had. the UMP is shorter, lighter, has a longer barrel and if its anything like most blowback SMGs, it isnt hard to control

how many parts are there to break or wear out in just the recoil system on a kriss?

There are only a few parts in the Kriss. They designed it with the Kalashnikov in mind. Nice try though.
