One thing you may find with the SR22 as so many of the members that particpate in the rimfire section, myself included is that the SR platform grows old really fast. its a great looking piece but at the end of the day atleast for myself, liking to hit my targets at 150-300 yards I quickly sold my heavily modified SR and opted to build a more suitable bench rest style rifle using a DAR22 as my base still wanting to stay in the 10/22 world.

edit, my point just made

now of course I followed his old thread and part of that accuracy in my opion would be the fact that he was running a red dot and not a high powered scope. but really who wants an AR syle with a big target scope hanging off it.

IMO yes. start with a basic 10/22 add your barrel, choice of stock(hogue for the win) trigger components or whatever else as your budget allows. or if its in your budget start with a Dlask reciever. you can build yourself a very nice little 10/22 with your own personal choices for about the same as the retail price of the sr, well a bit more and have a far more capable rifle

the thing I found when I was building my SR is besides the barrel and trigger components almost all of my expense was in cosmetic upgrades like rails and foregrips that dont do anything for performance but with its great looking platform added esthetics. money can be far better spent on quality optics

Thanks for the hit on dlask receivers was trying to find a company in Canada selling just the reciever deffinatly going with a custom build from the ground up now.

Anyone know of other Canadian sites which are good to purchase 10/22 parts from?
