Scar 16s...?

Had a great laugh at that image! The way things are going, we'll probably see the FN FNAC civilian variant before the Scar.. which would be OK since they made the charging handle non-reciprocating!

I friggin wish they would allow approve them already. Its the last great hope of a light, reliable, accurate, non restricted (with the proper length barrel) rifle in this country. All the others are either inaccurate (2MOA +) or heavy (ACR).

Kudos for hanging in there... (if you still are, that is). I'm holding out for the Beretta ARX-160. Apparently it's only 6.6-6.8lbs...

maybe ACR is a better option , the non-restricted is on the way

That extra weight is the biggest downfall of the ACR to me. Lose the barrel change feature and I bet it comes alot closer to the SCAR in weight. I think the barrel change feature is a useless gimic. I would rather just change out the whole upper which is quicker and you don't have to rezero. The charging handle is an annoyance but I can live with it if it saves a pound of weight.

The new light profile barrels from Bushmaster supposedly make a noticeable difference. But I agree; the ACR2 without the ratchet assembly is apparently just over 6lbs...
